In October, in NSW, the Independent Commission against Corruption (ICAC) revealed that it was holding a public inquiry into the conduct of Premier Gladys Berejiklian.
The Premier subsequently resigned.
When asked about Ms Berejiklian’s case and the NSW ICAC, the federal Labor MP Joel Fitzgibbon described the commission as a failed experiment and a kangaroo court. Saying that once there was ‘a referral of any sort to ICAC, you’re guilty until proven innocent.’
The Deputy Prime Minister, Barnaby Joyce opined that it was ‘working very badly’, and it was a little bit of a ‘Spanish Inquisition’.
A slow round of applause, therefore, for this pair.
