If you want to write clearly, then use verbs. Real ones. Don’t make them up:
And, for goodness sake, signalise is not a verb.
The admiral signals the fleet. And I signal my interest.
According to the ACT Government, however, ‘We are signalising this intersection.’
Signalise.
It’s bundled up with the three-word cliché, ‘Building safer intersections’. Just in case you needed to be reminded that the government was not deliberately building unsafe intersections.
