The workshop equips new regulators with the theoretical and practical knowledge they need to develop, implement and monitor their regulatory solutions.

Objectives
After attending Introduction to regulation, participants will be gain:
- an understanding of regulation as an instrument of policy
- awareness of the scale and scope of regulatory efforts in Australia – by the Australian government, and by state and local governments
- an understanding of the impact of regulation on the regulated community better evaluated
- a better understanding of engaging with stakeholders when it comes to implementing, administering and evaluating efficient and effective regulatory programs.

- This workshop is for all staff at all levels who want to improve their understanding of regulatory practice and the way they operate as regulators or as policy makers who devise regulatory interventions.

- Alternatively, this workshop can be delivered as 2 3-hour virtual sessions

- All participants read selected articles before attending the workshop.
Post-workshop resources and support
- All participants receive a set of customised workshops materials – workbook, manual and resources.
- All participants complete a post-workshop action plan that will assist them to put learned techniques into practices.
